A whirlybird is a wind-driven roof vent. As it spins it draws hot, moist air out of the roof space, which can help with summer heat build-up and condensation in the roof.
The vent itself is simple. The skill is in fitting it to a tiled roof so it stays watertight: cutting the opening in the right place, fitting the base and flashing it to the tiles around it.
Whirlybirds work best as part of a roof that can also draw air in, for example through eaves, so the hot air being pulled out is replaced by cooler air. We will look at your roof and let you know if whirlybirds are a good fit. If you are also restoring the roof, it makes sense to fit vents at the same time so they are sealed and coated with the rest of the roof.
Helps clear heat from the roof space in summer.
Ventilation helps limit condensation in the roof.
Properly flashed to tiled roofs.
How we work: every job starts with a written quote, so you know what is being done and what it costs before anything starts. We only work on the outside of the roof. If we find something outside the quoted scope, we stop, show you photos and give you a written price, and nothing extra goes ahead without your OK. Insurance work is supported, and you can call or text us on 0468 248 908, 7 days, 7am to 7pm.
It depends on the size of the roof space. We will recommend a number in the quote.
Yes, tell us in the notes.
