Valleys are the metal channels where two roof slopes meet. They carry a large share of the water off a tiled roof, so when they rust through, fill with debris or get damaged, leaks inside the house are often not far behind.
Valley replacement means taking the tiles off along the valley, removing the old valley iron, fitting a new one and re-laying the tiles so they sit correctly into it. It is a common add-on to a restoration and can also be quoted on its own.
While the tiles are off we can also see the condition of the timber and sarking along the valley. If anything under there needs attention we stop, show you photos and give you a written price before doing anything extra. Keeping valleys clear of leaves afterwards helps the new valley do its job for longer, especially if you have trees overhanging the roof.
Rusted valleys are one of the most common causes of roof leaks.
A new valley iron replaces rusted metal rather than covering it up.
Doing valleys during a restoration means the roof is sorted in one job.
How we work: every job starts with a written quote, so you know what is being done and what it costs before anything starts. We only work on the outside of the roof. If we find something outside the quoted scope, we stop, show you photos and give you a written price, and nothing extra goes ahead without your OK. Insurance work is supported, and you can call or text us on 0468 248 908, 7 days, 7am to 7pm.
Yes. Valley replacement can be quoted on its own.
We re-use your existing tiles where they are sound, so the roof looks the same.
Often you can see rust from the ground or in photos. Send us pictures and we will take a look.
Tell us where the roof is and what you need. We will assess it and get your written quote to you within 24 hours, or call 0468 248 908.
