Melbourne weather is hard on roof tiles. Moss and lichen grow on the shady sides, leaves and dirt build up in valleys, and over time the tile surface goes dark and patchy. That growth holds moisture against the tiles and can block the water channels that carry rain off the roof.
A proper high-pressure clean takes all of that off. It is the first stage of every roof restoration we do, because repairs and coatings only bond properly to a clean surface. It can also be quoted as a stand-alone job if your roof is sound and just needs freshening up.
We work carefully around solar panels, skylights, aerials and vents, and we keep the spray direction working with the tile overlaps rather than against them, so water is not forced up under the tiles. If you have pets, a pool or plants close to the house, mention it in the notes so we can plan for it on the day.
